Leitz Wetzlar microscope objective lens, with features as follows. Spring loaded tip prevents damage to slides.

Excellent for use on either 170 mm T. (tube length) microscopes, or 160 mm T. Works best with cover slip thicknesses of 0.17 mm.

Very high resolution, Numerical Aperture N. Images are clear, bright, and extremely well resolved.

Made in Germany by Leitz Wetzlar. This is a very beautiful Leitz oil immersion lens. These "mid-power oilers" are fantastic lenses and offer a much larger field of view than the more common 100X immersion lenses, while sacrificing very little in terms of magnification.

I have personally tested this lens on my own Zeiss Standard microscope, and the images it provides are clear, bright, and very highly resolved. Please note, in order to take full advantage of the resolving power (1.30) of this lens, you should oil both the condenser and the objective to the microscope slide. The lens will work just fine if only the objective is oiled to the slide, but you will be sacrificing some of the resolving power by not also oiling the condenser.
