E Leitz Wetzlar Vintage Binocular Microscope Four Objectives Germany

  

For sale is a vintage Leitz Binocular Microscope. I took Histology and Histopathology in school. I never used microscopes during my career but I used them a lot during my training.

I'm familiar with microscopes but not at the level of a scientist or a pathologist. There is some kind of fungus or haze in the PL 4:1 objective. The other three appear to be clear. The stage moves up and down.

The coarse focus and the fine focus work well. The knob that moves the slide left and right works easily on the left side of the stage. It gets tight as the slide moves to the right. The knob that moves the slide forward and backward is incredibly tight when the side is to the right. It frees up and works normally when the slide is positioned to the left.

The arm that holds the slide is bent up slightly. No mirror or light source. Paint is missing from the base and other areas of the microscope. Two American Optical 10x Wide Field CAT.
